This area of our website aims to provide an overview of the types of products and services offered by Dar Interiors. At present, the only product category that is close to being comprehensively covered online is the 'Dar' range of handmade Moroccan tiles. For all of our other categories of handmade Moroccan products, for internal and external spaces, we have simply shown representative images to provide a taster of our entire collections. These sections will soon be developed and enlarged but for the time being we suggest that you visit our London showroom or contact us for further information.
Dar Interiors designs and sources an unusual and continually evolving stock of handmade Moroccan products. We also specialise in bespoke pieces, utilising the craftsmanship of the Moroccan master artisans to produce one-off items to our customers' specifications. We are best known for our stunning range of 'zellige' (handmade, hand-cut Moroccan tiles) produced in our kilns and workshops in Fez, Morocco. We also have a wealth of experience in a wide variety of other materials including hand-forged ironwork, brass and copper work, all manner of carpentry and hand-carved plasterwork ('gebs').
Our range of outdoor furniture includes: hand-forged iron and mosaic tables and chairs, sun-loungers, screens and gazebos and zellige wall, corner and courtyard fountains. Our indoor furniture includes solid walnut, carved cedarwood and painted wooden tables, chairs, cabinets and wardrobes, both free-standing and fitted. We also produce hand-beaten copper, brass and nickel baths and basins for bathrooms and kitchens.
Dar Interiors' range of handmade Moroccan lighting is extensive, including pendant, wall, table and floor lanterns for both candles and bulbs. Each piece is individually handmade to order by highly skilled craftsmen using high grade copper, brass, zinc and, for the more economical models, tin.
With over ten years of experience in the field of Moroccan design, and our unparalleled access to skilled craftsmen, Dar Interiors specialises in the undertaking of both private and commercial commissions. Examples of our areas of expertise include: 'moucharabia' and 'Syrian' cedarwood screenwork; handcrafted plasterwork ('gebs') wall panels, arches and 'shemsia'; Moroccan relaxation rooms with low seating, tables and textiles, and; tiled 'hammams', bathrooms and garden spaces with tiled fountains and floors and 'tadlacht' (pigmented polished plaster) walls.
Our accessories and gift items include: teapots, engraved tea trays and delicate tea glasses; mirrors, framed with etched brass and nickel, intricate ironwork or mosaic; ceramic, terracotta and tadlacht urns, pots and vases; carved and painted wooden chests boxes and; and antique textiles, from ceremonial Berber tent wall hangings to 'henbal' and 'kelim' cushions.
